Somewhere Near Mt. Baker, Washington

Somewhere near Mt. Baker, WA -

Cold was an understatement and I was unaccustomed to the kind, but at the moment-cold was just fine. The stoke was absolutely beaming from everyone taking line, after line, after line. Our voices were the only ones echoing down the mountainside and into the empty corridors of the valley. I remember pausing for a moment to see on the wrist of my jacket, the most perfectly constructed snowflake I’d ever had the pleasure of laying my eyes on. I felt incredibly fortunate to be holding something so remarkably beautiful, but so temporary. Tears started to well up in my eyes a bit. At this point, only a handful of times in my life had I seen powder- the real good kind. This was one of the first times id ever laid eyes on and got neck deep in something that moves my body and melts my soul in ways that I struggle to put into words. This day. My god, this day, somewhere near Mt. Baker, WA is one of my favorite days.
