MICHELLE N. MEYERS
JOURNALIST - ARTIST - VOYAGER
BIOGRAPHY
Michelle Meyers is a multimedia journalist, fine artist, and voyager. She studied Journalism, Environmental Policy, and Environmental & Natural Resources Planning at Humboldt State University.

She has been creating works of art for as long as she can remember, yet her experience creating larger works began when she started shaping and painting surfboards, primarily with her father, and under the instruction of Jerry Ingham, of Ingham and XTR Surfboards. Later, she's had her work featured in the LUX institute, as well as the Laguna College of Art and Design.

While her career creating began in fine art, her background as a: journalist, editor in chief, producer, media specialist, master control operator, radio host, program director, trafficker, publicist, social media marketer, and ad-sales person, for six different publications, has provided her with unique experiences in media creation, management, and in telling in-depth stories through many different platforms, including: web, radio, and print.
Above all, it's the visceral connection she has to the sea and the mountains, that reflects heavily upon her work and in her everyday life.
She's spent her lifetime in the water- as a surfer, a lifeguard, a fisherman, a free-diver, a distance paddler, sailor, and an all around waterman (woman), and has devoted her later life to exploring the highest peaks along the West.
She believes that her purpose as a creator is to create authentic works that are connected with real people and real life experiences. She hopes to create works that inspire humans to consider their relationship with nature and strive to preserve wild places everywhere.
She resides in Humboldt County and is happiest nestled somewhere between the mountains and the sea.
